  1. KISS UNMASKED Released on May 20, (Casablanca records) Review by Lance Lumley: By , KISS had a major problem within the band. The last several albums (the solo ventures, along with ’s Dynasty), took the band on different paths while trying to keep the original members together. Ace Frehley‘s solo record produced a hit and became the breakout of the four solo attempts.

  4. This album was released after Dynasty and never reached the platinum status. As for me, I only discovered this album in the mid's. The song which completely did it for me was " Torpedo Girl ". This is a Spaceman song. With a nice intro. This made me decide to " tape " the album. Yep, in those days we recorded the albums on cassette tape/5().

  6. Jan 31,  · In reading the Solo Albums book, I get the impression that Gene was very much "into" his album, and thought it out well, but wanted to shy away from the traditional duties in making a standard "Kiss" album. I suppose it is possible that "Torpedo Girl" is Paul and Gene free, as you mentioned. It's certainly mostly Paul and Gene free, if not entirely.
  7. Ace's final track "Torpedo Girl" sounds like it would have fit nicely on his solo album. "Easy as It Seems" features - for the first and possibly the last time on a KISS song - latin congas. Actually, I'm wrong, as the congas reappear on their follow up album "(Music from)The Elder" on Ace's "Dark Light", but at least there, Ace's finger /5().
